What are the largest amusement parks?

The largest amusement parks in the world are as follows:

1. Magic Kingdom

Opened in 1971, it had 17 million visitors in 2008.

2. Disneyland

Opened in 1955, it’s theme is “Magic Kingdom”

15 million visitors in 2008.

3. Tokyo Disneyland

14.3 million visitors in 2008. Opened in 1983, it’s theme is “Magic Kingdom”

4. Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris

Opened in 1992, it’s theme is “Magic Kingdom.” (Notice a trend here?)

12.7 million visitors in 2008


5. Tokyo Disney Sea

Established in 2001, it is the most expensive theme park ever built, at over US $4 billion. The theme is nautical, and the volcano is the same size as Cinderella Castle in Tokyo Disneyland.

9. Universal Studios Japan

The largest non-Disney theme park is Universal Studios in Japan. It opened in 2001 and reached 11 million visitors its first year. In 2008, it had 8.3 million visitors.
